Strategic Objectives

The strategic objectives of the ETDP SETA are to:

  • the identification of skills shortages and training needs in the sector
  • the development of qualifications and learning pathways for education, training and development practitioners
  • an increase in the levels of investment in education, training and development in the sector and to improve the return on that investment
  • the development of the skills of workers in the sector at all levels, through
  • a better quality of life for workers, employment prospects for those previously disadvantaged and labor mobility
  • productivity in the workplace and healthy competition among employers
  • self employment and
  • redressing imbalances caused by a separate and unequal education and training system.
