TRAINING OF WORKERS IDENTIFIED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORKER-INITIATED SKILLS PROGRAMMES

The Education Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) is a public entity established in terms of Section 9(1) of the Skills Development Act, No. 97 of 1998 to advance skills levels in accordance with the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP). The ETDP SETA is looking for Skills Development Training Providers to train workers in Materials design, Educator development and Facilitation skills programmes. The ETDP SETA invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Labour Service Organisations (LSOs) and qualified training providers who have a verified track record with training labour related programmes and with trade union education. Below are the skills programmes with their respective implementing provinces:

  1. Materials design - Mpumalanga
  2. Educator development - Western Cape
  3. Facilitation skills (117871 10 credits @ Level5) - Free State

A qualifying trade union provider or LSO may apply for all of the above programmes or may apply for any number that they are qualified to deliver.

Pre-qualifying criteria:

  1. Institutional accreditation with a relevant SETA
  2. Submit a “Unique security personal identification number (PIN) issued by SARS" which the SETA will use to verify tax matters.
  3. Must have a proven and evidence-based track record of working in the Trade union education and training space with previous projects and experience. Please provide evidence of track-record with trade union education. Only providers with trade union experience will be considered.

Capacity to deliver:

  1. Facilitators should have experience in the delivery of the skills programme/s- please supply CVs of all facilitators clearly indicating their relevant experience.
  2. Supply a detailed implementation plan that includes: duration of course, course outcomes, course topics and assessment.
  3. Supply a clear and full cost breakdown per learner. This costing should be all inclusive and no further costs will be added. The cost breakdown should include all materials, facilitation, transport, accommodation, training venues, meals and certification (administrative and logistical costs should not exceed 7.5% of the training budget).
  4. Supply the course material and ensure that it is contextualised for Trade union education (on application).

Proposals will be evaluated based on the lowest price provided the above-mentioned outcomes are clearly addressed. All proposals must be emailed to EOIWIP@etdpseta.org.za on or before 10 February 2025. The ETDP SETA reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals.
